Business travel, meetings and conferences (MICE)
In La Rochelle, the Espace Encan, quai Louis-Prunier, facing the Bassin des Chalutiers, hosts conferences and trade shows: a 782-seat auditorium, meeting rooms and exhibition halls. The new Halle Marie-Josèphe Guillou (1,650 m²) has just been inaugurated there. Note that the Grande Halle (2,900 m²) is closed for renovation from October 2026, with reopening planned for June 2027. Every September, the Grand Pavois, a boat show held afloat, takes place at the Port des Minimes.

Extend your business trip: bleisure around La Rochelle
A meeting on Friday, one more day in the area: with a chauffeur at your disposal, here are a few ideas starting from the Old Port.
- Île de Ré: the island is reached by a 2.9 km bridge opened in 1988 (non-residents pay a crossing fee). Saint-Martin-de-Ré and its Vauban fortifications, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2008, are about 23 km from the Old Port.
- Rochefort: about 37 km to the south-east, the Corderie Royale, built in 1666 on the orders of Louis XIV, and the former naval dockyard.
- Île d'Aix and Fort Boyard: Île d'Aix is served by boat all year round from Pointe de la Fumée in Fouras (a crossing of about twenty minutes). Fort Boyard, currently under restoration, can be seen on boat trips.
- The Marais Poitevin: the "Green Venice", with its canals and flat-bottomed boats, less than an hour's drive away; Coulon is home to the Maison du Marais poitevin.
- Cognac: about a hundred kilometres away, the Hennessy, Martell, Rémy Martin, Camus and Otard houses open their cellars to visitors.
The big summer event is Les Francofolies, a French-language music festival held in July.
