Clermont-Ferrand Auvergne Airport (CFE) is in Aulnat, about 6 km east of the centre: allow around ten minutes by car outside rush hour. Air France flies several times a day to Paris-Charles de Gaulle, with onward connections worldwide. Seasonal flights include Ajaccio and Algiers. Clermont-Ferrand station, on avenue de l'Union-Soviétique, is a short distance from the centre. There is no TGV to Clermont-Ferrand: direct Intercités trains reach Paris-Bercy in about three and a half hours, and regional TER trains run to Lyon, Vichy, Le Puy-en-Velay and Aurillac. Extend your stay: volcanoes, heritage and the flavours of Auvergne

One more day after your meetings? Around Clermont-Ferrand, wild landscapes and history are less than an hour away. A few ideas with a chauffeur.

• The Puy de Dôme and the Chaîne des Puys: together with the Limagne fault, they have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2018. The summit road is closed to cars: since 2012, the Panoramique des Dômes rack railway has climbed to 1,465 m, where you find the remains of the Temple of Mercury and a view over dozens of volcanoes. • L'Aventure Michelin, opened in 2009: the story of the company, the tyre and the famous guide, close to where the group began.
• Vichy, to the north: its parks, springs and spa architecture have earned it a place among the Great Spa Towns of Europe, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2021.
