Nantes Atlantique Airport and Saint-Nazaire station

The main airport for Saint-Nazaire is Nantes Atlantique (NTE), in Bouguenais, south-west of Nantes. It is about 60 km by road, or roughly 50 minutes to an hour depending on traffic. Transfers to Saint-Nazaire centre, La Baule or your hotel are offered at a fixed price (see the sample prices above).

Saint-Nazaire-Montoir airfield, about 7 km north-east of the town, is used in particular by the Beluga cargo aircraft that carry Airbus fuselage sections. Arriving by private jet? We can pick you up there too.

Saint-Nazaire station, fully renovated, has direct TGV trains to Paris-Montparnasse: just under three hours for the fastest. Regional TER trains also run to Nantes and Le Croisic. Give your flight or train number when you book: your chauffeur follows your actual arrival time. As an option, your driver meets you with a name sign.

Saint-Nazaire is a major industrial town: the Chantiers de l'Atlantique build cruise ships here, Airbus assembles aircraft sections and the Nantes Saint-Nazaire Port runs its terminals along the estuary. Clients, suppliers and project teams come all year round, often with back-to-back meetings across several sites.

For events, Escal'Atlantic, inside the submarine base, can be hired: its Salon du Port, with a private pontoon, takes 150 to 170 guests depending on the layout, and the museum also offers a dining room, a bar and a cinema. The fortified lock, beside the submarine Espadon, suits cocktail receptions. Fifteen to twenty minutes away by road, the Hippodrome – Centre de Congrès de Pornichet and Atlantia, the La Baule convention centre, host seminars and conventions.

Extend your stay: ocean liners, coast and salt marshes

One more day in the area after your meetings? Saint-Nazaire and its surroundings combine heavy industry, beaches and heritage. A few ideas with a chauffeur.

• The shipyards: this is where the Normandie, the France, the Queen Mary 2 and, more recently, giant cruise ships such as the Wonder of the Seas were built. The guided tour of the Chantiers de l'Atlantique lasts about two hours, by coach, from the submarine base; it must be booked in advance with the tourist office.
• The submarine base: built during the Second World War, it houses Escal'Atlantic, devoted to the history of the great transatlantic liners, and the submarine Espadon. The tourist office also runs tours of the Airbus site, the port and the EOL centre, devoted to the offshore wind farm: 80 turbines off the coast, in service since 2022.
• The seafront: the town beaches, then the coastal path to Saint-Marc-sur-Mer, where Jacques Tati filmed Monsieur Hulot's Holiday. The Saint-Nazaire bridge, 3,356 m long and toll-free, spans the Loire estuary.
• La Baule, about twenty minutes away: its bay and beach of more than 8 km, its villas and grand seafront hotels.
• Guérande, about 20 km away: the medieval town and its 1,434 m of ramparts, then the salt marshes where salt and fleur de sel are harvested. Le Croisic and its fishing harbour are close by.
• La Brière, a regional nature park and France's second-largest wetland after the Camargue, with its thatched-cottage villages and boat trips.
• Pornic, across the bridge: its castle, its old harbour and the Côte de Jade.

The highlight of the summer is Les Escales, a world music festival on the Île du Petit Maroc (24 to 26 July in 2026). For visitors from further afield, including Asia, the trip extends easily to Nantes, the Muscadet vineyards or Paris, and we drive you door to door.
