Béziers Cap d'Agde Airport and Béziers station

Béziers Cap d'Agde Airport (BZR) is in Portiragnes, about 12 km east-south-east of the city, on the road to the coast. It is served by Ryanair flights: Brussels-Charleroi and, during the summer season, several UK cities including London, Manchester, Bristol and Edinburgh. For other destinations and long-haul flights, most travellers use Montpellier-Méditerranée Airport, about an hour's drive away, which we cover at a fixed price (see the sample prices above).

Give your flight number when you book: your chauffeur tracks your actual landing time. As an option, your driver meets you in the arrivals hall with a name sign.

Béziers station, just below the historic centre, has direct TGV trains from Paris-Gare de Lyon (about 4 hours for the fastest), as well as trains to Toulouse, Perpignan, Barcelona and Marseille. Give your train number: the pick-up is matched to your actual arrival.

Béziers Congrès, 29 avenue Saint-Saëns, brings together several venues. The Palais des Congrès, right in the historic centre, offers some 2,000 m² of space: an amphitheatre, an auditorium, breakout rooms and exhibition and catering areas, with a hotel next door. The Zinga Zanga hall, west of the city, holds up to 2,300 people for a convention or a show. The Théâtre des Franciscains, a former convent, seats about 300 for a plenary session.

Extend your stay: the Canal du Midi, wine and the Mediterranean

One more day after your meetings? Béziers is a fine base for exploring Languedoc, with its heritage, vineyards and seaside. A few ideas with a chauffeur.

• The Canal du Midi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996, was the work of Pierre-Paul Riquet, born in Béziers; his statue stands in the middle of the allées Paul-Riquet. On the edge of the city, the Fonseranes lock staircase lifts boats 21.5 m over a little more than 300 m. Close by, the Orb aqueduct, completed in 1858, carries the canal over the river.
• The historic centre: Saint-Nazaire Cathedral, high above the Orb, looks out over the plain; the broad, shaded allées Paul-Riquet are made for a stroll.
• The Oppidum d'Ensérune, about 8 km west: a fortified hilltop village occupied from the 6th century BC to the 1st century AD, with a museum run by the Centre des Monuments Nationaux and a view over the former Montady lake.
• Pézenas, about 20 km away: the town where Molière stayed, with its 16th- to 18th-century mansions and its craft workshops.
• The vineyards: the Saint-Chinian and Faugères appellations, north of Béziers, are best explored estate by estate, with a chauffeur so that nobody has to drive after the tasting.
• The sea, about 12 km away: Valras-Plage, Sérignan or Cap d'Agde and its harbour.

Every year around 15 August, the Féria fills the city for several days: book early. For visitors from further afield, including Asia, the trip extends easily to Montpellier, Carcassonne or Toulouse, and we drive you door to door.
