Airports and Colmar station

Colmar has no scheduled flights of its own: two international airports serve the city, each 60 to 70 km away. EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg, to the south, is the busier of the two and offers the widest choice of routes across Europe. The airport stands in France but is run jointly with Switzerland: its terminal has a French sector (code MLH) and a Swiss sector (code BSL). For a journey to Colmar, your chauffeur waits for you at the French exit.

To the north, Strasbourg-Entzheim Airport (SXB) is a good alternative for some domestic and European flights. We cover both at a fixed price (see the sample prices above). Give your flight number when you book: your chauffeur tracks your actual landing time. As an option, your driver meets you in the arrivals hall with a name sign. For business aviation, Colmar-Houssen airfield lies just north of the city.

Colmar station, opened in 1907 and built in grey sandstone and red brick, is a few minutes from the historic centre. A few direct TGV trains a day link it to Paris-Est in about 2 hours 20 minutes; other TGV services run to Lyon and Marseille, and regional trains reach Strasbourg in around 30 minutes and Mulhouse in about 25. Give your train number: your pick-up is matched to your actual arrival.

You can follow your flight or train live on our flight tracking and train tracking pages.

Business travel, meetings and conferences (MICE)

Colmar hosts many trade shows, corporate conventions and wine-industry gatherings. The Parc des Expositions et de Congrès, on Avenue de la Foire aux Vins, offers 16,500 m² of covered space across six halls, a modular auditorium seating 500 to 1,300, and eight meeting rooms. In the town centre, the Espace Auguste on Rue des Jardins adds two auditoriums of 140 and 300 seats. Together the two venues host more than 300 events a year.

With Germany right next door and Switzerland some 60 km away, Colmar is also a convenient meeting point for businesses across the Upper Rhine.

For companies, agencies and event organisers:

  • transfers between the airports, the station, hotels and event venues, in sedans and vans;
  • chauffeur by the hour or by the day, on request, for back-to-back meetings between Colmar, Strasbourg, Basel and Freiburg im Breisgau, or visits to wine estates;
  • corporate account with monthly invoicing and negotiated rates;
  • Factur-X (EN 16931) electronic invoices and the carbon footprint of every ride, calculated with the ADEME method.

For an event or regular volume, tell us what you need on our business and partners page.

Extend your stay: Little Venice, Alsace wine and Christmas markets

One more day after your meetings? Colmar is one of the most picturesque towns in Alsace, and the vineyards begin right at the edge of town. A few ideas with a chauffeur:

  • The old town: colourful half-timbered houses, the Maison Pfister, the Maison des Têtes and the Koïfhus, the former customs house. The historic centre has been a protected conservation area since 1966.
  • Little Venice (Petite Venise): the canals of the Lauch lined with flower-decked houses, best enjoyed on foot along the Quai de la Poissonnerie or by boat.
  • The Unterlinden Museum: home to Matthias Grünewald's famous Isenheim Altarpiece, with an extension by Herzog & de Meuron that opened at the end of 2015.
  • Bartholdi: the sculptor of the Statue of Liberty was born in Colmar, and his birthplace is now the Bartholdi Museum.
  • The Alsace Wine Route: Eguisheim, 7 km away and voted France's favourite village in 2013, then Riquewihr, Kaysersberg or Ribeauvillé, to taste Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris and Crémant d'Alsace with the growers.
  • Haut-Koenigsbourg Castle, high above the Alsace plain, for half a day of history and sweeping views.

The year is marked by major events: the Colmar International Festival of classical music in early July; the Alsace Wine Fair, some ten days between late July and early August, with concerts and a tasting hall; and then the Christmas markets. In 2026 Colmar has six of them, from 23 November to 29 December, and nearby villages such as Eguisheim and Riquewihr open theirs from 27 November. At the table: kougelhopf, pretzels, choucroute, Munster cheese and tarte flambée. For visitors from further afield, including Asia, the trip extends easily to Strasbourg, Basel or the Black Forest, and we drive you door to door.
