Le Havre station, airport and port

Le Havre station, at the end of the cours de la République, is a short walk from the centre and the Docks. Direct trains reach Paris-Saint-Lazare in just over two hours, with around fifteen departures a day; Rouen is about 45 minutes away. The tram serves the station. Give your train number when you book: your chauffeur follows your actual arrival time.

Le Havre-Octeville Airport (LEH), north-west of the city, has no scheduled routes: it mainly handles seasonal charter flights and business aviation. Arriving by private jet? We can pick you up there. For scheduled flights, most travellers use Paris-Charles de Gaulle or Orly, or Deauville-Normandie Airport across the estuary. We cover these journeys at a fixed price (see the sample prices above). Give your flight number when you book: your chauffeur tracks your actual landing time. As an option, your driver meets you with a name sign.

Le Havre is also a major passenger port, with ferries from Portsmouth and cruise calls at the Pointe de Floride, south of the centre. We wait for you at the terminal and take you to your hotel, to Paris or to an airport.

Extend your stay: architecture, Impressionism and the Normandy coast

One more day after your meetings? Le Havre and its surroundings have plenty for lovers of architecture, painting, sea views and good food. A few ideas with a chauffeur.

• The city rebuilt by Auguste Perret: destroyed in 1944, the centre was rebuilt in concrete by the architect and his team, and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2005. St Joseph's Church, with its tower of more than 100 metres, the town hall and the show flat furnished in 1950s style tell the story. Le Volcan, designed by Oscar Niemeyer, adds a contemporary touch.
• The MuMa, the André Malraux Museum of Modern Art, facing the sea, holds a very rich Impressionist collection, with Eugène Boudin, Claude Monet and Raoul Dufy. It was in Le Havre that Monet painted Impression, Sunrise, the work that gave the movement its name.
• Étretat, 30 km away: the white chalk cliffs, the Needle and the arches of the Alabaster Coast. Fécamp and its Palais Bénédictine lie a little further north.
• Honfleur, across the estuary via the Pont de Normandie: the Old Harbour, its tall narrow houses and the wooden St Catherine's Church. Deauville and Trouville are close by.
• The D-Day beaches and the Normandy American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer, for a day of remembrance; Rouen and its cathedral, less than an hour and a half away.

In summer, Un Été au Havre places works of art around the city; in odd-numbered years, in the autumn, the Transat Jacques Vabre sailing race starts from Le Havre. For local flavours, Normandy means cider, pommeau and calvados, cheeses (Camembert, Pont-l'Évêque, Livarot, Neufchâtel) and seafood. Travelling from further afield, including Asia?
