Biarritz-Pays basque Airport and Biarritz station

Biarritz-Pays basque Airport (BIQ) is set within the urban area: its terminal is in the commune of Anglet, about 5 km from central Biarritz. In 2025 it offered 24 direct destinations with ten airlines, including Paris-Orly, Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle, London, Geneva and Amsterdam. For long-haul flights, we drive you to Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport at a fixed price (see the sample prices above). Give your flight number when you book: your chauffeur tracks your actual landing time. As an option, your driver meets you in the arrivals hall with a name sign.

Biarritz station is in the La Négresse district, south-east of the centre. Direct TGV inOui trains link it with Paris-Montparnasse via Bordeaux, in just over four hours on the fastest services. TER trains run to Bordeaux and Hendaye, and Intercités trains serve Pau, Tarbes and Toulouse. Give your train number when you book: your chauffeur follows your actual arrival time.

Facing the ocean, the Espace Bellevue has a 489-seat auditorium, 1,200 m² of exhibition space and seven meeting rooms. On the Grande Plage, the Casino Municipal combines a 700-seat theatre-auditorium with the 660 m² Salle des Ambassadeurs. In the town centre, the Gare du Midi offers a 1,354-seat auditorium. For trade fairs, the Halle d'Iraty provides 8,000 m², 5,000 m² of it indoors, between the station, the airport and the motorway.

Extend your stay: Belle Époque, surfing, golf and the Basque Coast

One more day after your meetings? Between the ocean and the Basque mountains, Biarritz is best explored at an easy pace with a chauffeur. A few ideas.

• Imperial Biarritz: Napoleon III and Empress Eugénie turned the old whaling port into a fashionable resort. The Villa Eugénie became the Hôtel du Palais, on the Grande Plage. Do not miss the Rocher de la Vierge and its footbridge, the lighthouse on Pointe Saint-Martin, the Imperial Chapel and the Art Deco Musée de la Mer.
• Surfing and the ocean: surfing first appeared in France here in 1957, and the town regularly hosts national and international competitions. The Cité de l'Océan explores the ocean in an entertaining way. In June, the Wheels & Waves festival brings together motorcycles and surfing.
• Golf: the Golf du Phare, founded in 1888, offers 18 holes right in town. Other renowned courses line the coast, notably around Saint-Jean-de-Luz.
• Thalassotherapy: Biarritz and Anglet have several seawater spas facing the ocean, ideal for some well-being time after a conference.
• Bayonne, next door: the 13th- and 14th-century Gothic Sainte-Marie Cathedral is a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the Routes of Santiago de Compostela. The Fêtes de Bayonne fill the town for five days in July. Try Bayonne ham, then Espelette pepper in the hinterland.
• Saint-Jean-de-Luz: a fishing port, a sheltered bay and shipowners' houses. Louis XIV married the Infanta Maria Theresa here on 9 June 1660.
• San Sebastián (Donostia), in Spain: La Concha bay, pintxos in the old town and renowned Michelin-starred restaurants. Its international film festival takes place in September.
